Miles Bwalya Sampa has formally withdrawn from contesting the Lima Constituency parliamentary seat, following a letter he submitted to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) notifying the Commission of his decision.
In an official statement issued on 29 May 2026, the former Matero MP said the decision came after wider consultations with key stakeholders, adding that he had already withdrawn from participation in the parliamentary elections.
He linked his decision to a High Court ruling delivered about three weeks ago by Judge C.C. Zulu and Judge Mwila Kombe, which was issued just three hours before the closure of nominations. He said the ruling effectively prevented the Patriotic Front from fielding presidential, parliamentary, and council candidates.
Mr. Sampa stated that instead of continuing with the parliamentary race, he will now focus his political efforts on influencing who wins the republican presidential ticket, which he described as being in the best interest of Zambia.
The Boba TV CEO and content creator said he will continue his community presence in Lima and Matero, through his “Ubuntu” and “Kakudya Sikachepa” projects, stating that his engagement in those areas was never about votes but about long-standing community commitment.
